Artist’s block is real y’all. I experience it all the time. It’s a combination of burn out and fear. To get over my block I usually experiment with different art materials and styles. This was one of the results. Fashion designer @kevorkshadoyan‘s Armenian Costume collection was my inspiration. His designs are absolutely stunning. When I create my characters, I usually love to apply lots of detail. In this process, I stopped myself. I started with laying down the shape and direction of the pose with a blue pencil to give me a base. I then colored in the shapes with watercolor and finished it off with a black brush marker. I was very pleased with the outcome. I won’t be using this drawing for any reason other than the sheer joy it gave me to create it. This drawing will educate my future explorations.
