While brainstorming as to which colors to use for this collection, Ani and Arpi felt strongly that they wanted to have a color story reminiscent of the Armenian flag’s red, blue, and orange, with a summery twist. In addition to these three colors, the collection comes with a bottle of Ani Michele’s base and top coat in one. This is to be used prior to applying the polish, in order to protect the nail and give your manicure a longer wear. After applying your color, finish off your manicure with another coat to protect your nails and make your color shine.

2015 was a BIG year for two women entrepreneurs. It was the year Ani Michele Sousamian took her lifelong fascination with nail polish and started her beautiful collection. It was also the year Arpi Krikorian turned her illustrations into products and started sharing her art with the world. Ani and Arpi grew up together and are both alumni of Armenian Mesrobian School in Pico Rivera, California. Perhaps it was inevitable that these two creative minds would come together to develop a collection that fused their respective passions as well as their mutual love of their Armenian culture. What better outcome than having Arpi’s beautiful illustrations on the bottles of Ani’s vegan nail polish? When narrowing down the designs that were to be printed on the bottles, the only goal was to find four characters from Arpi’s vast collection that could perfectly deliver the message of the theme of this set. After the four images were chosen, a great coincidence was discovered, making it all the easier to confirm the choices: the names of the featured characters are Ani, Anush, Gohar, and Lucik, which, coincidentally, are the names of two of Ani’s sisters and her beautiful mother. What you hold in your hands features Ani’s vegan, cruelty-free nail polish, made in the USA. These bottles are adorned with the Armenian illustrations Arpi has come to be known for. It was important for Ani and Arpi to highlight three words which encompass the heart behind this very special collaboration. Their message is that all women are CREATIVE, CONFIDENT, AND CAPABLE. Ani and Arpi’s hope is that this collection will be used as a source of inspiration, exemplifying the timeless truth that all great things start with a dream.
