As Americans, we honor our Veterans today who protected the beautiful country we now call home. As Armenians, May 28th is one of the most significant dates if not the most significant date of the survival of our modern-day homeland. Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Sardarabad. The Armenian victory against the Ottoman Turks in that battle, ensured the survival of our nation and our people. It’s amazing that it took place only three years after the Genocide that killed 1.5 million of our population but the survivors, our forefathers, still had the hope, passion and strength to fight on, protect and win. May those angels always watch over our beautiful homeland.
