“Rising out of the Ashes”, 2025
Painted the week after the Eaton Fires in Altadena, CA on January 7, 2025. Our community was devastated. a slew of neighbors lost their homes. As I was walking down our street, hand on mouth, shaking my head from the horrible aftermath I was seeing, I witnessed a newly bloomed rose bush in front of one of the destroyed homes. It was literally rising out of the ashes just like what our community is doing right now.
