I’m taking 2 online classes with the amazing Koosje Koone http://www.koosjekoene.nl/. One of them is a recipe drawing class called “Draw It like It’s Hot” and the other is on Sketchbooking called “Sketchbook Skool.” They are both awesome classes because they both are getting me in the practice of drawing every day and documenting my life which bottom line is how you build the visual library in your head. Here’s today’s sketchbook entry of the blueberries I had for breakfast.
-I painted a blue wash with my new Japanese watercolor pens.
- I painted the shapes of the blue berries in darker blue with the watercolor pens.
- I inked the blueberries with my Faber Castell Pitt pen.
- I lightened up the background with white charcoal pencil.
- Finally, I added the details and texture of the berries with white and light blue Gelly Roll Gel pens and hand lettered “Blueberries” with the same steps. That’s it!
